Children's Ministries

Childcare
You can assume that if there is a ministry program going on at the church that childcare is provided for newborns through age 3. Caring volunteers who are trained and prepared to help you and your children staff the nursery and toddler room.

Children's Sunday School
There is a class for every child from age two through grade 6 in our children's Sunday school division. There is a heavy emphasis on Bible teaching and memorization. A team of teachers who use published curriculum from Scripture Press teaches the classes. Many of the groups have extra activities from time to time outside of the class time.

Childrens Church
During the second half of the 10:45 Worship Service, children ages 4 and 5 that are not in Kindergarten are invited to attend Beginners' Church. Those in Kindergarten through grade 2 may attend Junior Church. These ministries are scheduled so that children can begin to experience worship with their parents and other adults.

TeamKid Wednesday nights @ 6:45 pm Starts September 5, 2007!
We are excited about our "new and improved" TeamKID lineup. TeamKID is a fun, high-energy ministry that encourages kids to know Jesus Christ and grow in a relationship with Him, a great follow-up for our Five-Day Clubs ministry.

"New and Improved", you ask? Oh yeah! We have added an awards opportunity to our TeamKID program. Through scripture memory, attendance, and completing the weekly take home paper, the kids can earn points toward winning a trophy at the end of the season. Who doesn't love to get a trophy? Invite all your friends!

Five-Day Clubs
Over the past number of summers we have conducted a neighborhood based, Five-Day Club instead of a centralized VBS. We schedule at several different clubs in various homes for the same week. The ministry culminates in a rally where all the clubs come together.

Kids In Missions
On the last Sunday of the month children age 4 through 6th grade are dismissed from the Worship service to attend a special missions focus time for children.

Youth Ministries

Sunday Night Youth Group
Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm our young people from grade 7 to 12 meet for a time of Christian fun, study and meaningful interaction.

Oddysey Youth Group

This is a special youth group for young people going into 5th & 6th grades
.

Adult Ministries

Young Adult Fellowship
Good coffee, great friends, even better Bible discussion - just a few a reasons why YAF is so much fun. College may impact the mind, but YAF transforms the heart. So mark down these dates young adult students and workers.

Sunday Morning Bible Study
Sunday morning Bible Studies are under the direction of our Elders. The focus is on Bible study and life application.

Small Groups
Groups of 15 or less are formed as needed and meet in homes and at convenient times for those in the group. New groups are announced in the weekly News & Notes and monthly Newslink.

Women's Community Bible Studies
Sit down with a good cup of coffee. Chat with other women. Get to know God's point of view on what life and living is all about. Make time to feed your spirit. We offer studies on Wednesday evenings and Thursday morning.

Two studies are offered on Wednesday Evenings from 6:30-8:15pm

The Benefits of Waiting, and a study on the Book of John. Join us for our kick-off on September 5th with a coffee and dessert fellowship.

Four studies are offered on Thursday mornings. Join us for a brunch on September 6th. At that time, we will present an overview of each of the studies offered: The Benefits of Waiting, the Book of John, The Beatitudes and Loved by God.

Alliance Women in Prayer and Missions

A group of women meet monthly to study different areas and people of the world and how the church is reaching out to them in so many ways. It is a wonderful stimulant to prayer and action for missionaries around the world.

Jail Ministry
Fairlawn Alliance Church offers outreach opportunites to the Summit County Jail to share the word of God with those currently in prison.

Men's Ministries
Saturday Morning Bible Study and Prayer: An open group of men meet on Saturday mornings (see Calendar for latest times) for a time of interaction over the Word of God and to pray for and with each other. "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."

Accountability Small Groups
All of our men are encouraged to be involved in an accountability and prayer group. These groups consist of 3 to 4 men who meet on a regular basis for prayer and mutual encouragement.

World-wide Missions

While there are many different and effective mission organizations and ministries, Fairlawn Alliance is committed to giving priority to the more than 1000 missionaries that are sent throughout the world by the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA). A brochure entitled "Questions People Ask about Alliance Missions" explains the C&MA's methodology and rationale for reaching the lost around the world. Both of our present pastors and their families have served overseas as missionaries.

Annual World Missions Conference

In early October at least three of the C&MA's finest missionaries are assigned to our church for a weeklong concentration of missions awareness and support. This is one of the highlights of our church year.

Short-Term Missions Trips
Several of our people have taken 7 to 10 day trips to partner with missionaries and national pastors.

Great Commission Fund (GCF)
Financial contributions to the GCF are forwarded directly to the C&MA national office where 87% of those funds go to directly support various ministries. The remaining funds are used for administration.

Wednesday Night Prayer Time
The Worship Center is dedicated to the ministry of prayer beginning at 6:15pm on Wednesdays. Quiet music plays so that individuals can meet with God and seek his face. At 7:00 a bit more structure is added to the atmosphere and we take time to seek the Lord together by praising and worshipping Him, as well as to bring before Him our needs and concerns.

Pastoral Prayer
Our pastoral staff members are always available to pray with or for you. If there is someone who you believe would appreciate a pastoral call, even if they are not a part of our family of faith, please let one of the pastors know.

Prayer Chain
There is an organized telephone prayer chain that can be activated for emergency or critical prayer concerns. Contact one of the pastors or the church office.
