Rather than thinking of themselves as another “denomination” the C&MA considers itself to be an “alliance” of some 2000 local congregations in the US committed to knowing and exalting Jesus Christ and to completing His Great Commission.

The vision of our future is shaped and formed by what God is already putting before us as opportunities to Honor Him - our Lord. We are not in a position where we have to "cook-up" a vision. The vision of opportunities to minister and expand the Kingdom of God is much more descriptive than prescriptive. It is the continuation and an extension of the vibrant ministry that's already in place.
Our vision can be grouped according to Jesus' commission in Acts 1:8: "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth."
Jerusalem This represents our church family at Fairlawn Alliance. (Ephesians 4:4-16) Vibrant, meaningful worship that expresses glory and thanks to God. Sunday school that relates the truth of Bible to our lives at every age level. Small Group ministry that promotes friendships and Bible study.
Judea This group consists of those in close proximity and similar in culture and values to our family of faith. (Matthew 5:13-16) Women's Community Bible Study has reached out to so many ladies in our community providing in-depth as well as introductory Bible studies. Youth Group that provides a fun way to reach out to young people. TeamKID is a high energy evening that brings Christ to children. Five-Day Clubs take the good news out of the church and into the neighborhoods.
Samaria The Samaritans were despised and undesirable. We are called to attend to the needs of the outcast and needy in our area. (Matthew 25:35-40; Luke 4:18-19) Jail Ministries is reaching out and seeing lives changed through visitation, Bible studies and chapel services. Assisted living and nursing home ministry is reaching out to the elderly.
Ends of
the EarthThis category of ministry goes beyond our geographical boundaries and reaches out to people in physical and spiritual need around the world. (Matthew 24:14; 28:18-20) Great Commission Fund supports the global work of the C&MA. We have a goal of seeing everyone go on a short-term missions trip. We are sending out our very best to reach the unreached peoples of the world.
